Alex Bent on Leaving Trivium: New Beginnings and a Bright Future (2026)

Former Trivium drummer Alex Bent has opened up about his recent departure from the band, leaving fans eager to know what's next for him. In an emotional interview, Bent revealed his determination to stay in the music industry, saying, "I'm never planning on stopping. I don't have a backup plan." He emphasized his passion and drive, adding, "I'm just getting started."

But here's where it gets controversial... Bent's departure from Trivium seems to have left some fans and band members with differing opinions. While Bent wishes his former bandmates the best, some members have hinted at a more complex situation. Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu stated, "It just kind of happened, and it was a surprise." He acknowledged the positive aspects, including three amazing records and an incredible EP, but the split seemed unexpected.

And this is the part most people miss... Bent's final recording with Trivium, the "Struck Dead" EP, holds a special place in his heart. During its creation, Bent's daughter faced life-threatening challenges in the NICU. He poured his emotions into the music, balancing studio time with hospital visits. Bent's dedication and passion are evident in his words: "I wanted every single note to count."

As for the future, Bent is ready to explore new opportunities. He plans to focus on his skills as a player, perform drum clinics, and continue session work. He emphasized his hunger for more, saying, "I wanna go harder now for my family."

Trivium has since recruited new drummers, including Alex Rüdinger and Greyson Nekrutman, to continue their musical journey. But the band's bassist, Paolo Gregoletto, highlighted the impact of Bent's departure, stating, "'The Sin And The Sentence' is maybe one of my favorite records we've done."

So, what do you think? Is this a friendly split, or are there underlying tensions? Share your thoughts in the comments! We'd love to hear your perspective on this musical journey.
