The album remains true to the band's essence, combining ferocious energy and hard-hitting powerful melodies.'
The album's opening track, 'The Fever Mask', is being launched as a single today, accompanied by a heartfelt tribute video to Tomas Lindberg, assembled by longtime collaborator Patric Ullaeus. The song 'The Fever Mask' was one of the final tracks written for the album and quickly stood out as the natural choice for both the opening track and the first single. It perfectly captures the essence of AT THE GATES, blending raw energy, strong melody, and beautiful lyrics by Tomas.

Tomas Lindberg's battle with cancer began in December 2023 when he was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC), a rare and aggressive cancer. He underwent major surgery to remove a large portion of the roof of his mouth and radiation treatment. Despite his recovery efforts, doctors found traces of the cancer in early 2025, leading to long-term care. Lindberg's final message, written in March 2025, reflected on his health struggles and the band's radio silence. He expressed his determination to keep the cancer in check with chemotherapy.
AT THE GATES' history is marked by their groundbreaking album, 'Slaughter Of The Soul', released in 1995, which is often regarded as one of the all-time greatest metal albums. The band has undergone various lineup changes, including the return of founding member Anders Björler in October 2022 and the departure of Jonas Stålhammar in August 2022. The band's latest studio album, 'The Nightmare Of Being', was released in 2021, and 'To Drink From The Night Itself' in 2018, both without Anders Björler.
