Get ready for a theatrical treat as Avenue Q, the beloved musical, celebrates its 20th anniversary with a star-studded cast and an incredible creative team!
Avenue Q: A Musical Extravaganza
This iconic show, which first graced the West End in 2006, is back with a bang, and we're thrilled to reveal the full lineup of talented individuals bringing this hilarious and heartwarming story to life.
The Cast: A Who's Who of Talent
Leading the pack is Emily Benjamin, taking on the dual roles of Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut, alongside Noah Harrison as Princeton and Rod. Meg Hateley brings her charm as Mrs T and Bad Idea Bear, while Oliver Jacobson steps into the role of Brian. Charlie McCullagh will keep us entertained as Nicky, Trekkie Monster, and another Bad Idea Bear. Amelia Kinu Muus shines as Christmas Eve, and Dionne Ward-Anderson embodies Gary Coleman.
Completing this stellar company are Jasmine Beel, Jonathan Carlton, Angelis Hunt, Lesley Lemon, Jessica Niles Kadi, and Joshua Williams-Ward, each bringing their unique talents to the stage.
A Dynamic Director and Creative Vision
But here's where it gets controversial... or at least, a point of discussion. The show is directed by none other than the original award-winning Broadway director, Jason Moore. With music and lyrics by the talented duo, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q promises an unforgettable experience.
The creative team includes Stephen Oremus for music orchestrations and arrangements, Rick Lyon for the original Broadway puppets, and Anna Louizos for set design. New additions to the team are choreography by Ebony Molina, costume design by Jean Chan, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, sound design by Paul Groothuis, video design by Nina Dunn for Pixellux, and puppetry coaching by Iestyn Evans and Andy Heath for Talk to the Hand Puppets. Julie Atherton, an original West End cast member, returns as Associate Director, with musical direction by Benjamin Holder.
The Story: A Journey on Avenue Q
And this is the part most people miss... Avenue Q follows the journey of Princeton, a recent college graduate, as he finds himself in a rundown apartment on New York's Avenue Q. Here, he meets a diverse and vibrant cast of characters, and together, they tackle the challenges of work, love, and the ever-looming bills.
The musical has had a remarkable run, opening in the West End at the Noël Coward Theatre and later transferring to the Gielgud Theatre and Wyndham's Theatre.
So, are you ready to join Princeton and his friends on their adventures? Book your tickets now and be a part of this extraordinary celebration!
